Steel products & shelving
Steel products and shelving are the foundation of any professional kitchen. Not the glamorous equipment that gets attention. But the equipment that determines whether the workday flows or struggles. A solid steel table where there is space to work. A shelving unit that keeps its promises, day after day. Shelves that are easy to clean. That's what we focus on here. Our range counts over 600 products within the category, and it covers a wide range: from simple wall-mounted shelves to large floor shelves, from simple tabletops to complete stainless steel workstations.
Stainless steel is not just an aesthetic choice. It is a practical one. The material withstands water, cleaning agents and mechanical wear without giving in. It does not release substances into food, and it is easy to keep clean. That is why stainless steel, also called inox, is standard in professional kitchens worldwide. When you look at our range, you will see that we prioritize constructions with smooth surfaces, welded joints without unnecessary holes and edges, and adjustable feet that provide flexibility regardless of the nature of the floor.
We are a family-owned company with roots in Ikast since 1994. We import ourselves from European factories, which means we know the products inside and out. Our salespeople are not on commission, so when you call to ask if a rack can carry 150 kg per shelf, you will get an honest answer, not a sales pitch. We have built our reputation on this for more than 30 years.
Shelving, shelves and steel tables – what does the category cover?
The steelware and shelving category is intentionally broad. Professional kitchens are not all the same. A busy restaurant kitchen has different needs than a hospital canteen. A catering company needs something different than a café. That's why the range covers many product types. You'll find shelves and shelves in many variants: floor-standing, wall-mounted and mobile solutions with wheels. You will find steel tables and table tops in different widths and depths. And you will find accessories such as extra shelf levels, reinforcement profiles and wheel sets that make the furniture flexible.
Floor-standing shelving is the most common choice in storage functions and cold rooms. They are stable, adjustable in height and adaptable to the dimensions of the room. Wall-mounted shelves save floor space and are popular in smaller kitchens or in areas where easy access is needed without blocking aisles. Mobile shelving with lockable castors is ideal in catering environments or kitchens that are regularly reorganized. And stainless steel worktops are the foundation of most production processes, whether for processing, serving or packaging.
How to choose the right steel material
It is a question we often hear: which steel grade is right for my kitchen? The answer depends on the environment. AISI 304 is the standard for most professional kitchens. It is corrosion-resistant, hygienic and durable under normal conditions. If you work in an environment with salt, marinade, sea sand or aggressive cleaning agents, you should consider AISI 316. This type of steel has a higher content of molybdenum, which provides better resistance to corrosion in demanding environments. It is relevant, for example, in the fishing industry, on ships or in kitchens with aggressive chemical cleaning.
The finish of the surface also plays a role. A matte or brushed surface is practical because scratches are less visible. A mirror-polished surface looks great but requires more maintenance to maintain its appearance. In work kitchens, brushed steel is by far the most common, precisely because it stays presentable with minimal effort. And then the construction is important: look for welded joints rather than screwed ones, and avoid products with many internal corners where dirt can collect. This saves you time when cleaning and reduces the risk of bacterial growth.
Brands and quality levels we work with
We carry steel products from suppliers we know and have worked with for many years. Our focus is always the same: best value for money. That doesn't mean cheapest. It means you get a product that lasts, that meets the requirements of your industry, and that doesn't cost a fortune in maintenance or replacement. We import ourselves from European factories, and that gives us control over the quality from start to finish.
When we evaluate a product for the range, we look at load-bearing capacity, welding quality, surface finish and the ease of cleaning of the construction. A steel table that cannot withstand daily washing with detergents has no place in a professional kitchen. A shelf that bends under normal load is a bad investment, regardless of the price. We are selective, and you can see that in the products. Do you want to combine your steel product range with the right steel table or countertop, you will find a wide selection in our subcategory.
Energy consumption and operating economy
Steel products and shelving do not have an energy consumption in themselves. But they still affect the operating economy. A well-placed and correctly dimensioned steel table reduces unnecessary work movements and saves time. A shelf with the right load capacity avoids breakdowns and replacement costs. And furniture that is built to last 15-20 years is much cheaper than cheap alternatives that need to be replaced every three years.
Think of steel products as an investment in work processes. Every time an employee doesn’t have to take unnecessary steps to retrieve equipment, time is saved. Every time a cleaning takes five minutes instead of fifteen because the surface is easy to access, resources are saved. These are the kinds of gains that aren’t always visible in a quote, but that make a difference in day-to-day operations. We’ve seen it with hundreds of customers over the past few decades.
Cleaning and maintenance of stainless steel
Stainless steel is easy to keep clean, but there are a few things you should know. Always clean in the direction of the steel's grain, not across it. This will reduce visible scratches and keep the surface looking good. Do not use steel wool or harsh abrasives, which can scratch the surface and make it harder to clean in the future. Warm water and a mild detergent will do most of the work in your daily life.
For deep cleaning and disinfection, most approved surface cleaners for professional use work well on stainless steel. Avoid chloride-containing agents in unnecessarily high concentrations, especially on AISI 304, as this can attack the surface over time. Always rinse thoroughly after cleaning and let the surface dry or wipe with a clean cloth. If you invest in steel with a hygienic design, i.e. smooth surfaces, rounded edges and no unnecessary recesses, you make cleaning significantly easier for the staff. You can advantageously combine steel products with other professional kitchen equipment that are designed to the same hygiene standards.
Who uses steel products and shelving – and for what?
The answer is: almost everyone who works with food professionally. Restaurants use steel tables for processing and serving. Canteens use floor racks for storing dry goods and packaging. Hospitals and nursing homes have an extra focus on hygiene and easy disinfection, and here fixtures with hygienic construction are particularly important. Cafés often choose compact solutions that fit narrow kitchens. Hotels combine robustness with flexibility across many kitchen functions. And catering companies need mobile and stackable solutions that can withstand transport and frequent rotation.
Do you have a mobile kitchen or do you work with catering outside the house? Then wheel sets and connection options are important details. Do you work in a cold room or an environment with extreme humidity? Then ventilated shelves and extra corrosion-resistant steel are the right choice. We are happy to help you find the solution that suits your operation exactly, regardless of whether you run a small café kitchen or a large kitchen with 50 employees.
Legal requirements and hygiene – what do you need to know?
The requirements for fixtures in professional food environments are clear. Materials and surfaces that come into contact with food must be fit for purpose. This means that they must not release substances that can affect the composition, taste or health of the food. This is the basic principle behind the EU regulations on food contact materials, and it is something we focus on throughout our range.
In addition, there are the HACCP principles that all professional food companies must work according to. Equipment must support the separation of clean and unclean zones, enable effective cleaning and reduce the risk of cross-contamination. This places requirements on the placement of shelves and tables, but also on the construction itself. The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration is clear: equipment must be able to be cleaned effectively and be suitable for the environment in which it is used. Our shelves and steel tables meet these requirements, and we can advise you on which product types are best suited to your particular environment. Finance and financing – buy or rent?
A fully equipped stainless steel kitchen is an investment. We know that. And we also know that not all businesses have the capital to buy everything at once. That's why we offer long-term rentals as an alternative to purchasing. This gives you the opportunity to get professional equipment from day one, without unnecessarily straining your cash flow. This is especially relevant for newly started restaurants, pop-up concepts, seasonal kitchens or growing businesses that don't know exactly what they will need in two years.
Many of our customers combine purchase and rental. They purchase the basic equipment, while more flexible or temporary equipment is rented. It is a model that makes good operational sense. And for those who want to buy, we offer price matching. We have a large inventory, and this means that we can deliver quickly on much of the range. This is an advantage when a steel table has broken in the middle of the season and there is no time for a long delivery time.
