Long-term rental of commercial kitchen equipment and fixtures
Long-term rental of kitchen equipment is a solution that makes great sense for many professional kitchens. Rather than tying up a large capital investment in an industrial kitchen for rent, you spread the expense over the rental period and preserve liquidity for what really drives your business. We have offered long-term rental of selected equipment for many years – minimum 6 months – and we see a growing need from restaurants, canteens, hotels, cafés, nursing homes and catering companies who want flexibility without compromising on quality.
Our long-term rental range covers a wide range of equipment you’ll find in a professional commercial kitchen. From combi steam ovens and convection ovens to professional refrigerators, freezers, blast chillers, dishwashers and much more. You’re not renting equipment that’s worn out or old – you’re renting equipment that’s ready to work hard from day one. This is exactly the kind of solution that makes sense when you’re starting a new concept, need to cover a temporary need, or simply don’t want to have your capital tied up in machinery.
We are a family-owned business with roots in Ikast since 1994. We import directly from European factories ourselves, and our salespeople are not on commission. This means that you get honest advice on what suits your kitchen – not what we would rather sell. The question is really simple: What does it cost you to have capital tied up in equipment, versus renting and spending the money on staff, raw materials and the guest experience?
What is long-term rental – and what is it not?
Long-term rental and leasing are often used interchangeably, but there is a difference. Operational leasing is a financial agreement that is typically concluded through a leasing company. Long-term rental with us is simpler: you rent the equipment directly from us for an agreed period of at least 6 months. There is no complicated financing and no major formalities. You use the equipment, we make sure it works. The agreement is transparent and clear.
It is not a short-term solution for a weekend event. Nor is it an attempt to sell you something you don't need. Long-term rental makes sense when you have a stable need over a period of time, but don't want to buy. This could be because you are setting up, because you want to test capacity, or because you run a kitchen where flexibility is more important than ownership. What types of equipment can you rent from us?
The range is wide. We have equipment for most of the daily operations of a professional kitchen. Cooking equipment such as combi steamers and convection ovens are popular rental items – they are expensive to buy, but are central to production. Refrigeration and freezing is another large category: refrigerators, freezers and blast chillers for rapid cooling. Dishwashers, including both tabletop and pass-through models, are also available.
We also have equipment for storage and transport: gastronorm racks, lifting trolleys and warming trolleys. As well as narrower categories such as coffee machines, blenders and other machinery for daily operations. If you need to put together an entire kitchen line for a new location, we are happy to sit down with you and review what makes the most sense to rent versus buy. Also see our commercial kitchen range for inspiration for the overall setup.
How to choose the right equipment for rental
Capacity is the key word. Before you choose, you need to know how many places you make per day, when the load is greatest, and which products take up the most space in production. A combi steamer is dimensioned in GN places (1/1 GN, 6 places, 10 places, etc.). A refrigerator is dimensioned in liters and number of shelves. A blast chiller is rated on freezing capacity in kg per 24 hours. These numbers should match your kitchen – not the restaurant next door.
Also think about the connection. Very professional equipment requires 3-phase power and a certain number of amps. Some machines require a water connection and drainage. Does your premises have the necessary installations? It is important to clarify before the equipment arrives. We are happy to help you spot the technical requirements so that there are no surprises on installation day.
Brands and quality level in our rental range
We do not carry a random selection. The equipment in our long-term rental is chosen because it is robust, easy to clean and reliable. It is professional equipment – the same type of equipment that you will find in our sales range. Stainless steel is the norm, rounded corners and removable components make cleaning easier, and CE marking is a basic requirement for everything we carry.
We import ourselves from European factories, and we know the brands we carry. These are not cash registers bought at the cheapest possible price – these are equipment we will stand behind ourselves, because we live off having satisfied customers year after year. Our focus is always best for the price: quality for the money, not the cheapest on the market. Would you like to see what we carry? machinery and small electrical equipment, you can find it here.
Energy consumption – it doesn't matter over 6 months
When you rent equipment for 6 months or more, energy consumption is not a detail. It is a real operating expense. An old-fashioned refrigerator can cost far more in electricity over a year than an energy-efficient model. Our rental equipment is selected with a focus on modern energy classes, and we can help you estimate the expected kWh consumption so you can compare realistically.
Many professional kitchens have increased their focus on energy and sustainability – not just for ideological reasons, but because electricity bills are one of the major variable costs. Heat recovery in dishwashers, demand-controlled ventilation and LED lighting in fridges/freezers are examples of technologies that improve the bottom line over time. This is something we can advise on when you put together your rental agreement.
Cleaning and maintenance during the rental period
You run the kitchen – we are responsible for the equipment. That is the basic philosophy behind long-term rentals. Daily cleaning is your responsibility, just like with owned equipment. But in the event of technical errors, breakdowns or the need for service, it is our job to respond. We have a Danish service department with our own technicians, and we know the equipment we rent out.
Good equipment makes cleaning easy. Stainless steel is not only hygienic – it is easy to wash down, can withstand the cleaning agents used in professional kitchens and lasts over time. Removable components such as shelves, trays and filters make daily maintenance quick. Remember to check filters and seals regularly – this extends the life and keeps the equipment running optimally. Also check out our range of tools, clothing and service for daily work in the kitchen.
Who rents equipment from us?
The customers are very diverse. Restaurants that are opening new and want to minimize the initial investment. Canteens in companies or schools that need extra capacity during a transition period. Hospitals and nursing homes that have strict hygiene requirements and need documentable temperature control. Cafes and bakeries with limited floor space that need compact equipment. And catering companies that produce large quantities and need robust equipment with high capacity.
What they all have in common is that they operate professional kitchens and have a good reason to rent rather than buy. The flexibility is particularly attractive for pop-up concepts, test kitchens and seasonal operations. But we also see companies that simply prefer to have the equipment cost as a fixed, predictable monthly item rather than a large one-time investment.
Legal requirements, hygiene and documentation
All equipment for use in professional kitchens must comply with hygiene requirements for materials, cleaning and self-control. This applies regardless of whether you own or rent. Equipment in contact with food must meet the requirements for food contact materials, and all electrical equipment is CE marked. Our equipment meets relevant hygiene standards – it is a basic requirement for us, and it should be for you.
HACCP is relevant for all food companies. It requires temperature control, documentation and critical control points in production. Some of the equipment we rent out – especially refrigerators, freezers and blast chillers – directly supports your HACCP system by providing precise and documentable temperature control. Ask us about the options for data loggers and temperature monitoring in the specific models. Would you like to read more about what we carry? steel products and shelving for storage in your kitchen, you will find it here.
Finance and financing – what does it really cost?
That's the question that is asked most often. And the short answer is: it depends on what you rent and for how long. But perspective is important. A large combi steam oven can cost 100.000+ DKK to buy. Depreciation, maintenance, possible repairs and the risk of having tied up capital in equipment that may not be suitable in 3 years - these are real costs that are not always taken into account.
Long-term leasing gives you a predictable monthly expense. It’s OPEX rather than CAPEX, and it makes budgeting simpler. It’s also easier to adapt if your needs change. We offer long-term leasing as a tangible alternative to buying – and we’re happy to help you review what makes the most sense for your specific situation. No commission, no hidden agenda. Just an honest talk about what gives you the most value for your money.
